Did you know that the first portable computers — the ancestors of today’s laptops and tablets — had no batteries at all, worked only when plugged into mains power, and could weigh almost 15 kilograms? Technological progress quickly transformed these heavy metal boxes into the compact and convenient laptops we know today.
Our collection includes portable computers from several generations, including the legendary IBM ThinkPad models — laptops that even travelled into space! Visit the museum and we will gladly share this fascinating space-age story with you.
